"Tying your shoes is a small but essential skill, one you use for
the rest of your life. Help your little one learn faster with Tie Buddies®.
These cute, kid-friendly devices act as easy pull-tabs for small hands,
taking messy loops out of the equation. The happy characters make
a game of it, resulting in a strong knot and even stronger recall."

All my kids are at the age now that they can tie their own shoes
but some of them still need a little help, or it takes them a few
more tries to get it just right where its not too lose to where it
comes undone fast leaving them to re-tie their shoes every few
minutes to the point they get frustrated and refuse to keep them
tied and walk around stepping on laces all day.

With the help of Tie Buddies® and their cool characters with
interactive stories they help the child learn and retain the process
as well as eliminate the frustrating ‘bunny ears or loops’
that just confuse them. It was easier for my kids to tell the
different shoe lace strings apart and grab ahold of them better
to be able to make a tighter knot and hold it more secure.
According to their site with the slip on style shoes and Velcro styles
the average age of children learning to tie shoes their own shoes
has increased to as late as 9 or 10 years old. Crazy! I have not bought
my children Velcro shoes for years, but it seems like most of the kids
in our neighborhood wear them. I have purchased slip on ones for my
son recently when I got tired of it. With an huge 8+ month prego belly its
not so easy to get down on his level to work with him on it and figure out
what he is doing wrong or if he is tucking it in weird or what..so I gave in.
He wears both and its more of an elastic hold slip on and he loves them..
of course because he doesn't have to tie his shoes over and over because
they never stay tight or he manages to tie them weird to where it comes
undone in seconds. So I was excited to have these for both of my kids to
practice with and see if we could determine what they need to perfect
their shoe tie skills! They worked great to help him out too..we didn't
leave them on his shoes of course becuase they are pink but
he was cool with using the pink ones to practice with right along
with his sister. It took a few tries to determine where I needed to
to place them on the shoe lace to get the right loop size and fit
but over all was easy and made it easier to explain and figure
out what he was doing wrong.
